Privacy
What flywl keeps, and why.
flywl reads public YouTube videos and says whether they build the business behind them. It keeps what it needs to do that and to show you your reports, and nothing for advertising. It does not sell data.
What you give it
- Your email address and password. The password is stored only as a scrypt hash.
- The business you describe in Settings, if you do: its name, website, what it sells, who buys, and its products. Reports use it to judge your videos against your business.
- The videos you paste, and any transcript you paste in place of YouTube’s.
- An address you leave on a waitlist, used to send one email when that feature opens.
- Your answer to “Was this report useful?”, and the note if you write one.
What it reads for a report
- Public data about the video from YouTube: its title, description, counts, public caption track, and the top twenty public comments with the name each commenter shows on YouTube.
- Google Trends search interest for the business the report finds.
- Nothing private. flywl never asks you to sign in to YouTube and cannot see any account.
Who else handles it
- Anthropic. Reports are written by Claude, so what flywl read about the video, and your business if you described one, is sent to Anthropic to write each one.
- Cloudflare. Every visit to flywl.app passes through Cloudflare on its way to the server.
- YouTube and Google. flywl’s server asks them for public data about a video. It sends them nothing about you.
- Nobody else. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking scripts, and the fonts are served by flywl.app itself.
Cookies
- One:
flywl_session, which keeps you signed in, or holds a free run if you started one without an account. It lasts 30 days. There are no others.
Who can read your reports
- A report is private to the account that ran it, with two exceptions you choose.
- Public reports. A run with no business described and not kept private can be published under Public reports once it passes automatic checks. You can make it private from the report at any time. A run measured against your business is never public.
- Private links. If you make a private link to a report, anyone who has the link can read it. Turn it off from the report and it stops working at once.
How long it is kept
- Reports are kept until you ask for them to be deleted.
- Sign-ins end after 30 days. A free run’s record is deleted after 24 hours if no run was started.
- A backup of the database is made once a day and each one is kept for seven days.
Where it runs
- On one machine in the United States, run by the person who makes flywl, who can read what is stored in order to run and improve it.
Seeing or deleting what flywl holds
- Email [email protected] to see, correct or delete anything flywl holds about you: an account, its reports, or a waitlist address. If a report is about your video and you would like it taken down, write to the same address.
